HDFC Bank Infinia Credit Card (Metal Edition) review

One of India's most rewarding cards for big spenders who redeem points for flights, hotels or air miles, where it returns about 3.3% on almost everything. You can't apply for it directly; HDFC invites customers, and it now expects ₹18 lakh a year of spending or a large balance with the bank. If you only want cashback, the value drops to about 1%.

Fees

₹12,500 a year + GST. Renewal fee waived if you spend ₹10 lakh or more in the previous 12 months. Forex markup 2%.

Rewards

Statement credit pays up to ₹0.30 a point, products and vouchers up to ₹0.50. SmartBuy flights and hotels, Apple products and Tanishq vouchers pay ₹1 (points can cover up to 70% of the bill), and airline miles transfer at up to 1:1. No redemption fees.

  • Groceries: 1% – Grocery points capped at 2,000 a month
  • Fuel: 0% – No points on fuel; 1% surcharge waiver on ₹400–₹1 lakh transactions, up to ₹1,000 a cycle

  • Bills: 1% – Utility points capped at 2,000 a month; telecom bills have a separate 2,000-point cap
  • Rent: 0% – No points on rent; 1% fee (max ₹3,000) from the second third-party rent payment in a month
